GAS main replacement work has meant the closure of part of a main residential road in the city as from today (Monday, February 8).

The work by contractors Balfour Beatty will see Northwick Road being closed from its junction with Northwick Avenue to its junction with Union Place, with work expected to take around four weeks.

Two diversions will be in place, using either Northwick Road, Beckett Road and Ombersley or Sabrina Avenue and Northwick Avenue.

Work will also be starting this week on resurfacing part of Hanbury Park Road. The road will be closed from the stretch from the junction with Bransford Road to the junction with Malvern Road as from tomorrow (Tuesday, February 9).

An alternative route will be in place using Malvern Road and Bransford Road and vice-versa while work, expected to last 18 days, goes on.

Footpath repairs in Lansdowne Walk scheduled for this week will also see a temporary

closure from its junction with Lansdowne Crescent and its junction with Lansdowne

Crescent Lane.

Work was set to begin today (Monday, February 8), and is set to last five days.

And residents in a Worcester are reminded of gasworks set to begin shortly which look likely to bring disruption as a one-way system is put in place.

Contractors Balfour Beatty are due to start work on Saturday, February 13, in Britannia Square.

The work, set to last nine days, will take place in three phases, with the clockwise one-way system running for the duration.

Diversions will see traffic using Braymoor Road, Moor Street, Loves Grove, Castle Street and The Tything.
