TWO people were arrested after a nine-year-old boy died in Droitwich yesterday afternoon.

Here's what we know so far:

• Police have released a statement confirming a nine-year-old boy has died following an incident in Vashon Drive, Copcut, on Thursday afternoon, (February 18)

• Two people, a man and woman, have been arrested. The latest update from police was that they remain in police custody while enquiries continue

• Police cordoned off Vashon Drive at around 6pm last night, initially asking people to avoid the area as they were dealing with a "serious incident"

• Two air ambulances went out to the scene

• Police were at the semi-detached home house during the evening, including forensics teams

In the latest statement from West Mercia Police Detective Inspector Ed Slough, said: “This is a tragic incident that has seen a young boy lose his life and our thoughts are with his family at this awful time.

"We are currently treating the boy’s death as unexplained and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.”
