A DOCTOR says he is thrilled to be in with a chance of winning a prestigious Worcestershire Health and Social Care Award after being nominated.

Dr Jason Seewoodhary, GP at Barbourne Medical Centre in Worcester, has been nominated for the Care Hero Award.

Dr Seewoodhary graduated from Cardiff University with a first class BSc degree in Cellular and Molecular Pathology and has three distinctions and honours in medicine and surgery.

He successfully completed General Internal Medical training in hospitals within London, Cambridge and Oxfordshire and obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians, undergoing specialist training in rheumatology and diabetes and endocrinology.

"My work during the pandemic has inspired me to learn more about infectious diseases and I hope to study for the diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene."
