A MAN from Evesham has been fined for assaulting two police officers.

Ainsley Giles, 32, assaulted two officers on January 17 2021.

Giles, of Albert Road, Evesham, pleaded guilty to both charges at Worcester Magistrates Court on February 18, 2021.

He was fined £160 in total for both offences, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and costs of £185 to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Also appearing at the court was Ashley Cheshire who was disqualified from driving for 20 months for drink driving.

Cheshire, of Risdale Close, Evesham, was caught drink driving on the A422 Broughton Hackett in Churchill on July 28 2020.

A blood test revealed he had 156 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - the legal limit being 90.

On the same day, Cheshire was involved in a crash where damage was caused to another vehicle on the Edwards Lane to A422 Broughton Hackett.

Cheshire failed to stop and give his details.

He pleaded guilty to both charges on February 18.

For drink driving, Cheshire was fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and costs of £135 to the CPS.

His driving ban will be reduced by 20 weeks if by March 30 2022 he completes a course.

He was given no separate penalty for failing to stop and give his details at the crash.

Meanwhile, a teenager from Evesham was handed a conditional discharge after being caught with cannabis.

Marc Breakwell, 18, was caught with 11 wraps of the Class B drug on February 4 last year in Evesham.

Breakwell, of Kings Lane, Norton, pleaded guilty to the charges at Worcester Magistrates Court on February 18 2020.

He was discharged conditionally for six months, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £21 and costs of £100 to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The cannabis was seized and forfeited to be destroyed.

Appearing at the court on the same day was Alexandra Marcham, who was fined for assaulting a man.

Marcham, of Yates Hay Road in Malvern, assaulted a man by beating him on December 23 2020 in Welland.

Marcham, 34, pleaded guilty to the charges on February 18 2021.

She was fined £40, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and costs of £85 to the CPS.
