MORE than 31,500 people in the city have received at least one Covid vaccine dose so far, according to the latest NHS figures.

Vaccination figures show, for the first time, that 31,514 people in Worcester have received at least one jab as of February 21 - roughly 30 per cent of the total population.

Of the people in Worcester who have received at least one jab, 18,875 people were aged under 70 and 8,010 people were aged between 70 and 79.

A total of 4,629 people aged 80 and above in Worcester have received at least one jab so far.

A total of 45,245 people in Wychavon – which includes Evesham, Pershore and Droitwich – have received at least one dose so far compared to 30,470 people across Malvern Hills who have received at least one jab.

The data also shows 261,375 first and second jabs have been given out in Worcestershire and Herefordshire between December 8 and February 21.

This means 34,988 more jabs have been given in both counties in the latest week of available data.

The figures also now show the number of people aged between 65 and 69 in Worcestershire and Herefordshire – the latest priority group – who have received at least one jab.

A total of 40,476 people aged between 65 and 69 have received the first jab across both counties with 51 people receiving both doses.

The number of people who have received a second jab in Worcestershire and Herefordshire currently stands at 2,087.

As many as 897 people aged 80 and over have received both doses compared to 1,077 people aged under 65.

A total of 51 people aged between 65 and 69 have received both jabs, 27 people aged between 70 and 74 have had theirs and 35 people aged between 75 and 79 are now vaccinated having received both doses.
