MORE than forty per cent of people in the city have now received at least one Covid jab, according to the latest vaccination figures.

NHS figures show 34,967 people in Worcester have received at least one dose of a Covid vaccine up to February 28 - a rise of 3,453 people compared to a week earlier.

Based on Office for National Statistics population estimates from mid-2019 of nearly 86,000, just over 42 per cent of people aged 16 and above have received at least one jab.

As many as 4,622 people aged between 65 and 69 have had at least one dose of a Covid vaccine in Worcester.

A total of 17,611 people aged under 65 in Worcester have now received at least one jab.

Lower Wick and Bromwich Road remains the area of the city with the most people receiving at least one Covid jab at 3,484.

A total of 3,265 people have received a jab in Northwick – the second highest in the city – and 3,142 people in Battenhall and Diglis have had at least one jab.

As many as 2,981 people have received one dose in Dines Green and St John’s and 2,827 people in Barbourne and Rainbow Hill have so far received at least one jab.

A total of 2,634 people in King George’s Field - which covers WR3 and WR4 postcodes including parts of Astwood Road, Tolladine Road, Langdale Drive, Brickfields Road and Blackpole Road – have so far received at least one jab.

King George's Field also saw the biggest week-on-week increase in Worcester with 315 more people receiving at least one jab.

Figures show 2,212 people have received at least one jab in Ronkswood and Nunnery Wood.

A total of 2,195 people have received at least one jab in Worcester Town North - the area covering many WR1 and some WR3 postcodes in the city centre towards Arboretum and Barbourne.

As many as 2,161 people have been given at least one Covid vaccine dose in Worcester Town South which covers some of the city centre towards Worcester Cathedral as well as Sidbury, parts of London Road, Wyld's Lane and Lowesmoor.

Figures also show 2,139 people have received one dose in Lyppard Grange and 2,117 people have received at least one dose in Henwick. 2,091 people have received at least one vaccine in Warndon East.

A total of 2,054 people have received at least one Covid vaccine in St Peters and 1,665 people have received at least one jab in Warndon West – the lowest in the city.
