DRIVERS attempting to use Pinkett Street in the Northwick are of Worcester will have to find an alternative route for the next three weeks or so because of gas works.

Beginning today (Monday, March 8), contractors Balfour Beatty will be carrying out gas main replacement work, with the road closed from its junction with Northwick Road to its junction with Ombersley Road for approximately 25 days.

Access to frontages is unaffected.

Barbourne residents are reminded that there are plans to put in place no waiting restrictions on Ivy Street this month.

Any objection/representations to the proposal need to be emailed to roadtrafficregs@worcestershire.gov.uk; to be received by this Thursday (March 11).

There is also a reminder of a new no waiting scheme which comes into effect in St John's this week.

Double yellow lines will come into force in parts of Lodge Close from Thursday, and there will also be a limit on waiting.

Meanwhile further afield, drivers passing through Little Witley are being advised that permanent changes to speed limits are under planned.

Worcestershire County Council intends to enforce a 40mph limit for a stretch of the A443 from its a point north of its junction with Bank Road to one south of the Well Lane junction.

A 30mph limit is also set to be confirmed for Bank Road, Church Lane, Well Lane and part of Witley Road.
