A CHARITY network held a zoom showcase to unveil the two school projects completed in 2020.

The projects at Dines Green Academy and St Bartholomew's, Stourport, resulted in a total outlay of more than £35,000 which were financed by a series of successful fundraising events held by Wooden Spoon Worcestershire last year.

John Gibson, chairman of Wooden Spoon Worcestershire, said the fundraising would also not have been reached without the support from their "great and loyal sponsors" - representatives from which watched the zoom showcase.

“The needs of the children do not change through the pandemic but in fact increase so to complete the two great projects under the most restrictive circumstances is a great tribute to the schools, Wooden Spoon and of course our members," Mr Gibson added.

Wooden Spoon also used the session to start to unveil their post lockdown event schedule. If regulations permit, Wooden Spoons regular 'First Thursday social' would return on July 1 with a wine tasting event, and a race night is already booked for later in the year.

The Children’s Charity of Rugby also unveiled their latest project which is a wheelchair Drive Deck for Chadsgrove School in Bromsgrove.

“Another great project for Spoon and a reminder that all funds raised and donated in the county stay and are spent within Worcestershire,” Mr Gibson added.
