WIND gusts of up to 48mph are expected in Worcester as part of a yellow weather warning in place for Wednesday and Thursday.

The Met Office has issued the warning as gusts travel down from the north western tip of Scotland on Tuesday.

Wind and rain is expected to build up throughout Wednesday with the real problems kicking in overnight and the most blustery conditions around Worcestershire are predicted to arrive just before the morning commute on Thursday.

Worcester News:

The warning covers all of England and Wales with:

  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.
  • Some short-term loss of power and other services is possible.
  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer.

The forecast is for many southern parts of England and Wales to have clear spells and another frost tonight. Most other areas will be cloudy with rain or drizzle in places.

Cloud is expected tomorrow with best of sunny intervals in the south and east, some rain in the north and west which will turn heavier and persistent in the north west later along with gales.

Rain will continue through much of Wednesday with the heaviest in the west before the heavy, blustery showers overnight and into Thursday morning.

It is expected to be similar on Friday, although less windy.
