WITH the children making their long-awaited return to school this week, we thought it might be fun to take a look at some of the class pictures that members have been sharing on our We grew up in Worcester page on Facebook.
A trio of pictures in particular, posted by member Louise Sampson, jogged many memories of one school, Gorse Hill Primary. Louise shared the images taken just a couple of years after the Second World War, and dozens of members exchanged memories of their time there.
About to take part in a music lesson (and looking really thrilled about it!) at Gorse Hill Primary School in 1947. Picture shared by Louise Sampson
Murray Snudge shared this picture of a St Stephen’s School class, taken in about 1958 or 1959. Does anyone recognise any of the happy smiling faces?
Keith Lewis shared this picture on our We grew up in Worcester Facebook page of a British School class in about 1961
John Chapman shared this class picture earlier this year from St Peter’s School, taken in about 1958. He is in the back, second right, next to a camera-shy classmate
Do you recognise anyone in any of the pictures that our members shared? Do you have an old school photograph you’d like help in putting names to faces on?
Why not join the thousands of people who are already members on We grew up in Worcester on Facebook?
