WORCESTER'S future scientists had a ball learning all about physics, biology and chemistry at Perry Wood Primary School.

Miss Chance, Science Lead, at Perry Wood said: "The children at Perry Wood had an amazing Science Week full of exciting experiments relating to the theme of 'Innovating for the Future' - improving the outlook for our future by coming up with our own new ideas. We thought about lots of different aspects of our lives from medicine of the future to protecting the planet, transport of the future to sustainable farming.

"Each and every child had the opportunity to think about their own lines of enquiry, ask the big question "Why?" and participate in practical science experiments to put their theories and ideas to the test. It has been an amazing Science Week here at Perry Wood. I am so proud of all of the amazing things that the children have investigated and worked on and am sure that we have some of the future's leading scientists within our school."

Meyler a Year 1 pupil said: “We learnt lots about water pollution by doing lots of experiments. We need to stop, so that fishes don't get stuck and have a happy life.”

Suzanne Beston, Head Teacher added: “Children were really excited to be back at school this week, and it was an amazing start. The superb plans produced by teachers for British Science Week and the Griffin Science Symposium have ensured children have seen science is fun and have had some much-needed time away from their screens.

"We have had a science shop, where children have been able to buy science experiments to take home. It’s lovely to see children smiling in the corridors and running around our extensive grounds. Griffin Schools Trust ensures that every child has opportunity for high achievement through proud traditions like our annual science week.”
