EMERGENCY services were called to the old Crown and Anchor pub in Hylton Road last night after a fire broke out.
The road was closed between Henwick Road and Tybridge Street while five crews tackled the blaze at the derelict pub at around 9.45pm.
A spokesman for the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire, which involved the ground floor, first floor and roof in the building approximately 30m by 10m, was extinguished by four firefighters using breathing apparatus, two hosereel jets, a covering jet and ladders.
A reinspection took place at 4.30am. Police and ambulance also attended. The incident was closed at 6.45am.
