DISADVANTAGED youngsters did not miss out on an Easter treat thanks to Worcester foodbank, and the generosity of city residents.
The foodbank, based in Lowesmoor, appealed for people to make a generous donation of an egg, and kind hearted city residents answered the call.
Writing on social media on Easter Sunday morning, the Worcester Foodbank said: "Hundreds of disadvantaged children will have woken up to an egg-stra special surprise this morning thanks to the wonderful kindness of local businesses and people.
"A massive thank you to everyone who shelled out on an egg. Happy Easter."
The foodbank also tweeted a picture of the dozens of bags of donations St Peter’s residents had given in the run up to Easter.
The foodbank said: "These are just some of the donations heading our way after another outpouring of generosity from the St Peter’s community.
"We’re so grateful for the incredible support we receive from so many of you. Every donation provides a precious lifetime to the growing number of people at risk of going hungry in our city."
