NEW job roles are soon to be filled at a multi-million pound new care home in Malvern.

Around 70 vacancies are being filled at Windsor Court Care Home, which is being built in the town by the Maria Mallaband Care Group.

To recruit new staff, the company is holding a recruitment event on April 23 and 24 at its showroom in Malvern's Church Street.

The private 51 bedroom care home, built on the site of the now closed Malvern Community Hospital, is set to be opened this summer, with jobs for everyone from those with no experience in care, to those with years of experience in the industry.

The recruitment event will be held at the Windsor Court showroom, at 14 Church Street, Great Malvern, WR14 2AY.

This open-door drop-in event, running from 9am to 5pm, will be an opportunity to pick up information about the opportunities available, register details, and chat with some of the leadership team, including new care home manager Zoe Miller, hospitality services manager Mike Lane, and community liaison coordinator Ginny Peachey.

Annelli Chatfield, group commissioning manager at Maria Mallaband Care Group, said: “As we move closer toward the opening of this fantastic new home we’re looking at the full recruitment of our start-up team – that will include nurses, senior care assistants, care assistants, receptionists, hospitality assistants, a wellbeing lead, kitchen porters, domestic staff and laundry staff. It’s a long list, which reflects the breadth of brilliant opportunities in the social care environment.

“Joining the Maria Mallaband family has a host of fantastic benefits too – including fully-funded training, support, and development opportunities, health insurance, a pension plan, and discounts and offers through Perkbox.

“This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the core team that is going to launch a brand new purpose-built care home, and we look forward to meeting with potential future team members.”

Zoe Miller, care home manager at Windsor Court, said:

“We’re looking to build a team of like-minded people committed to providing the best care and the best experience for everyone living with us at Windsor Court.

“We’d like to speak with engaging, compassionate, creative people. Individuals who are self-motivated and passionate, brilliant team workers, with an enthusiastic and energetic attitude.

“For many of the roles you won’t need experience working in the care sector; it might be that you’ve worked in hospitality before and have lots of transferable skills, or perhaps another sector, and you’re looking for a new challenge.

“It’s exciting to be creating so many brilliant job opportunities, and we can’t wait to start meeting with candidates.”

Maria Mallaband's Church Street showroom includes a mock-up of a bedroom and the corner of a lounge to give a feel for what the finished home will be like.

Masks must be worn inside the showroom and a social distancing system is in place.
