READERS have been busy sharing pictures of carved wooden animals left around Worcester over the Easter weekend.
The mystery skilled craftsman known only as the Lost Woodsman left 100 carvings and 200 tomato seedlings to be discovered as part of an Easter trail.
The Lost Woodsman, who wishes to remain anonymous, told us that since we reported on the mystery animals, hundreds of people have taken part in the treasure hunts to find the pocket-sized animals.
The Instagram account, the_lost_woodsman – where the craftsman shares how the gifts are created and hints at locations where they can be found – has also gained thousands of new followers.
Each one found on a trail contains a message specially for the finder, often sharing a eco-friendly message.
The Lost Woodman said: “I have been doing a trail every two weeks, and slowly building up the amount of items left.
“The last one around Diglis and Cherry Orchard Reserve had 50 carvings and 100 tomato seedlings, with a message of ‘if we can all grow a bit of food that’s another step we can take to prevent the climate disaster’.”
