AROUND 150 people gathered in Cathedral Square on Saturday to protest the Government's police, crime, sentencing and courts bill.
Activists of all ages braced the hail stones to 'defend their democratic right to protest' at The Elgar Statue in the city.
Protests have been held in cities around the country against the Government's bill, which would give police in England and Wales more power to impose conditions on peaceful protests, including protests deemed too noisy or a nuisance.
