ALLEGED bad drivers and a youth accused of stealing nearly £20,000 of chewing gum are some of the cases being heard today at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Haydyn James, 18, of Waterloo Close, Madresfield, Malvern is due up for speeding in Jennet Tree Lane in Madresfield. The offence is alleged to have occurred on August 30 last year.

Worcester shoplifter's rude gesture at court

A 17-year-old, who cannot be identified, is due in court for stealing £19,117 worth of Wrigley's chewing gum from Mars and Wrigley's Confectionary in Birmingham.

Pervert ran from police

Marcus Hart, 29, of Fennel Croft, Birmingham is due in court for speeding on the M5 on July 12 last year.

George Martin, 30, of Blenheim Road, Worcester, is accused of speeding in Ombersley on June 30 last year and the A44 New Road in Worcester on July 5 last year.

Dog was returned 'skin and bone'

Meanwhile, Ahmed Aftab, 31, of High Street, Smethwick is due in court for three charges of exceeding the temporary speed limit (50mph) on the M5 on three different dates at Droitwich - July 17, 2019, July 16. 2019 and July 31, 2019.

Several drivers are also due up for failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver suspected of an offence. Raja Akhtar, 40, of Barnes Way, Worcester and Nina Jones, 51, of Foster Street, Kinver, Stourbridge are both charged with that offence.

At crown court a trial of issue is set to take place in the case of Sanger Mohammed, who is accused of breaching immigration law after it is alleged he helped non-EU citizens enter the UK.
