A NEW antique centre set within the grounds of a Grade II listed building opens in Worcestershire this weekend.

Kyre Park Antiques Barn officially launches on Saturday, April 17. Visitors can expect to find eclectic antiques from across the globe.

Founder Tony Wittridge said: “From the moment I saw the barn and the idyllic grounds of Kyre Park House this felt like a destination, a destination that people would travel to.”

“With both established dealers of 30 years+ and complete newbies to the industry, we’ve filled the barn with an eclectic offer appealing to a wide range of interests – from traditional country house to mid century chic, French brocante to vintage industrial retail.

“Many of our dealers have little online presence at all, so you’ll be sure to find outstanding pieces you have never seen before.”

Kyre Park Antiques Barn isn’t just for adults. The manor’s numerous ponds, cascades, and bridges can be easily navigated through a self-guided walk, for a day of family fun.

Although the house itself is not open to public viewing, Kyre Park House, near Tenbury Wells, has typical 14th Century style complimented by 18th Century additions.

The house and grounds have served as a home to various Lords and Earls, a military hospital during the Second World War, and a nursing home for children suffering from chest ailments in the 1950s and 60s.

Kyre Park is owned by Tzaraine Gywn-Jones and her late husband Tim Gwyn-Jones, who originally had the idea of an on-site antiques barn before he died.

During the launch event, visitors will be treated to complimentary food from the on-site bistro, with drinks available from the bar. Local producers will be serving up food for a light lunch with a glass of wine.

Kyre Park Antiques Barn will be open from 10am to 5pm.
