A DRUG dealer turned barber made abusive sexual comments to a female police officer during an outburst in Worcester city centre.

Muddsiar Shabir, a convicted heroin and cocaine dealer, admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and using threatening and abusive words or behaviour when he appeared before city magistrates yesterday.

The 40-year-old of Friesland Close, Worcester said he was ‘disgusted’ by his behaviour and made the offer to pay compensation following the incident in The Cross in Worcester on March 14.

Mark Hambling, prosecuting, said police attended a 999 call and found Shabir in the driver’s seat of his car with the engine running. Mr Hambling said: “There certainly was a lot of abusive words and behaviour and some of it was quite threatening.” Shabir swore at officers, calling them ‘idiots’. Mr Hambling said this referred to ‘the milder bits’ of the abuse. Shabir used a crude term to describe how he wanted to have sex with a female officer and also made an offensive reference to his state of arousal.

Mr Hambling said Shabir had a previous conviction for driving with excess alcohol in 2015. His licence was previously endorsed with 10 penalty points for being drunk in charge of a vehicle.

Jason Patel, defending, said Shabir had entered a timely guilty plea and was ‘gobsmacked’ when he was told what he had said to the female officer. He was recalled to prison, serving 28 days behind bars and was only released on Tuesday. Mr Patel said: “He very much regrets his actions.” He added that Shabir completed a barber’s qualification while in custody. “He managed to open in June and July when the first lockdown ended,” he said.

On Wednesday he reopened and had a ‘busy day’. He explained Shabir lived with his parents and his father was on dialysis. Mr Patel said 10 points were added to Shabir’s licence when he was found asleep at the wheel. Magistrates made a 24 week community order which included a six month curfew between 9pm and 7am. They also fined him £250, ordered him to pay £135 costs, a £95 surcharge and £50 compensation to the officer. He was banned from driving for three years.

Shabir was pulled over on the M5 near junction 6 on July 14, 2016. Officers found £4,500 worth of drugs in the car.
