JOSE Mourinho has been sacked as manager of Tottenham Hotspur, one of the club's involved in the hugely controversial Super League.

Mourinho's sacking comes after Spurs won just once in their past six games, a period in which the club were dumped out of the Europa League and had fallen behind in the race for Champions League qualification.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the six English clubs that have announced they have agreed to join a new European Super League (ESL) with other European giants.

The possible seismic move has already seen widespread criticism from across the football world, including from Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Uefa and the Premier League.
