A FORMER University of Worcester student is accused of raping a young woman in her flat after telling her ‘I’m going to have sex with you’ as he walked her home.

Sam Ringer is accused of rape and sexual assault against a young woman in Worcester after both had been on a night out the city.

Today the jury was played a video interview in which the complainant gave her account of what she says happened at a flat in the city centre on January 16, 2018.

The 22-year-old of Longfield Lane, Ilkeston, denies the charges against him as his ongoing trial continued at Worcester Crown Court today.

The trial, which is being heard by Judge Nicolas Cartwright, started on Monday.

In the interview she told an officer she had been drinking before she arrived at Bushwackers nightclub, describing herself as 'wasted' and 'upset' after an argument with her friends when Ringer offered to walk her home.

The complainant said the defendant tried to hug and kiss her on her way home before he entered her flat, locked the door behind them and raped her.

In her interview she said she had told Ringer 'no, I don't want to' but that he 'just didn't listen'.

She said she had drunk two bottles of wine before going out, drinking Jägerbombs in Bushwackers and had been 'in the best mood ever' before she left the club in the early hours of the morning.

The complainant said she started to cry outside Bushwackers when Ringer came out and started to hug her and kiss her.

"He said 'I will walk you home'. He tried to kiss me on the lips. I pushed him away" she said.

When she got back to the flat she said she went to bed and did not even take her shoes off.

She said: "I was thinking I just wanted my bed - I wanted him to leave."

In the interview she described herself as being 'really, really drunk to the point where I can't stand anymore'.

She added: "He said 'I'm going to have sex with you'. I remember him saying that. I looked at him and I was like 'no'."

The complainant said she did not scream during the alleged attack, believing that nobody would come to her aid.

"I didn't do anything. I just lay there because I didn't know what to do" she said.

The alleged attack left the bedsheets covered in blood. "It was disgusting and it was hurting. I felt like my body was just a doll, a rag doll" she told the officer.

The trial continues.
