WORCESTERSHIRE County Council's road resurfacing teams will be busy this month as the spring weather gives way to summer.

A stretch of the A38 Droitwich Road in Fernhill Heath, the subject of much debate among readers of late, is set to be closed for two days from Friday, May 21, to allow for resurfacing work.

The closure affects the road from its junction with Sling Lane to its junction with Church Lane, except for access to frontages.

The eastbound diversion route is: A38 Droitwich Road, A4536 Hurst Lane, A449 Worcester Northern Link, M5 Junction 6 roundabout, A4538 Pershore Lane, A38 Droitwich Road.

Westbound traffic will be diverted using the A38 Droitwich Road, A4538 Pershore Lane, M5 Junction 6 roundabout, A449 Worcester Northern Link, A4536 Blackpole Road, A4536 Hurst Lane.

Lansdowne Crescent Lane could be closed for up to 16 days from Thursday, May 20, to allow for resurfacing work. The road will be closed from its junction with Lansdowne Road to its junction with Lansdowne Walk, with access only allowed to frontages.

Traffic will be diverted using Lansdowne Walk, Lansdowne Crescent, Rainbow Hill, Lansdowne Road and vice versa.

And Goldsmith Road in Brickfields will also have the resurfacing teams out for anything up to three weeks late in the month.

Plans are in place to close the road from its junction with Windermere Drive to its junction with Walnut Avenue from Sunday, May 23.

Diversions will take traffic along Walnut Avenue, Brickfields Road, Blackpole Road, Windermere Drive and vice versa.

Finally, footpath repairs in Arboretum will mean diversions for traffic from Tuesday, May 25, for about 17 days.

Arboretum Road is set to be closed from its junction with East Street to its junction with Sansome Walk, except for access to frontages.
