ACCORDING TO A RECENT SURVEY, Worcester is one of the best British cities for al fresco diners.

This is great news for locals as we are currently only able to sit outside local pubs and restaurants.

The study was carried out by rental comparison site, Holidu- and Worcester beat other major cities and towns such as Chester and Bournemouth.

The study is based on which British cities offer the most outdoor dining options per inhabitant.

What were the results of the study?

In the Holidu study, Worcester was ranked fifth best in England for al fresco dining and was awarded a 9.40/10 rating.

They wrote: “As the birthplace of the famous Worcestershire sauce, it’s only right that the city of Worcester is up to scratch where its culinary options are concerned!

“From traditional British pub grub to exotic Mediterranean delights, there are many great places to book into and enjoy an al fresco evening meal.”

In the study, Brighton came out on top with a 10/10 rating with the caption: “This seaside destination is an absolute favourite every year, and it’s not hard to understand why. Quirky bars, chic cafes, rooftop gardens and country pub gardens - what’s not to love.”

Taking the final spot in the top 10 is Bournemouth. Not only well-known for being one of the best seaside cities in the South West, but it also boasts some stunning al fresco dining options. From traditional beer gardens to rooftops with panoramic views, there is something for everyone here.

Unsurprisingly, there are many fantastic outdoor dining areas in and around Worcester- here are some that are open right now:  

One great option is Anatolian Palace Turkish Mediterranean Grill Restaurant. They specialise in Turkish cuisine and have a sizeable outdoor seating area.

For a taste of the Mediterranean, The Olive Branch Mediterranean Bistro & Wine Bar on church street. They currently have 50 outdoor seats and are accepting walk-in bookings.

Burger Shop Worcester on Cherry Tree walk  have a new garden space for customers to enjoy- and their eclectic range of burgers look mouth-watering.

Not only do The Chequers at Crowle In Crowle Green serve a fantastic pint- they also serve some top-notch food.

More than just your regular pub grub, they serve truffle and parmesan chips, deli boards and ratatouille stuffed pancakes.

Feli’s Bar and Restaurant in Stoulton is a family run bar & restaurant serving freshly prepared dishes with an Italian flair and you can enjoy your meal by the waterfront at Browns at The Quay on Quay Street.
