The Courtyard is delighted to be reopening its doors to the public from Thursday, May 20.

The Courtyard will be welcoming guests back into the building this month with a programme of film and live events as well as the reopening of The Courtyard Café Bar and the launch of The Courtyard Chase Lounge.

From Friday, May 21, audiences can enjoy a range of films including Oscar nominated Nomadland, Sound of Metal and The Father. Films will be screened in The Courtyard’s Main House where audiences will be socially distanced.

“I am very excited about the quality of films now available for us to see.” Says head of film, Simon Nicholls, “With lots of films being made available via various streaming platforms at the same time as they are available in the cinema, it is now more important than ever that our exhibition stands out. We have taken our time away to upgrade our projector and sound system so that we can offer audiences the best possible viewing experience.”

Kicking off the programme of films is Jessica Swale’s Summerland, which follows the story of fiercely independent folklore investigator, Alice (Gemma Arterton) who secludes herself in her cliff-top study, debunking myths using science to disprove the existence of other-worldly forces and magic.

Other titles include Hope Gap , a British drama, loosely based on the break-up of writer-director William Nicholson’s parents, starring Josh O’Connor; and Peter Rabbit 2, the long anticipated sequel where Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated.

The Courtyard Café Bar will also be welcoming customers into its newly extended and refurbished space. From Thursday, May 20, the Café Bar will be open from 10am with brunch and lunch being served between 12pm – 2pm and dinner being served between 5pm – 7.30pm. To book a table in the Café Bar visit courtyard.org.uk/café-bar.

Due to Covid regulations, only visitors who have booked a ticket or a table will be admitted to The Courtyard. On arrival, guests will be required to check in and guided to their seats by a member of staff. Face masks must be worn when in The Courtyard building unless there is an exemption.
