A WORCESTER school is the only school in the UK to win a zoom call with a NASA astronaut.

In association with the SkyDay project, Grimley and Holt Primary School will be taking part in a zoom call with NASA astronaut Nicole Stott on 21 May. They will be sharing the experience with one other winning school in Zimbabwe, making Grimley the only representation from England.

Sally Patterson, science lead at the school said, "We are so pleased to be selected. The children have worked so hard on this project and produced some lovely work. I'm often amazed at the standard of work that the children produce". The challenge involved the children to contribute creatively through art, science and literary and upload it on to the SkyDay website. The aim of the project was to bring people together under one, shared sky with over 200 schools participating all over the world.

Headmaster of the school, Andrew Richards, said "We are so fortunate to have Mrs Patterson continually raising the profile of science in our school. She works incredibly hard. Sally has fantastic ideas and is an inspiration to both children and staff".
