A POPULAR Herefordshire fish and chip shop is up for sale.

On the market with agents Veritas Business Sales, Ledbury's Y-Pass chippy in Homend Crescent is looking for new owners.

Veritas said the business, set in a grade II listed building, dates back to the 1960s and has been in the careful hands of their client since June 2019, but is now for sale due to relocation.

"Since ownership they have refurbished, redecorated and invested in new equipment along with fixtures and fittings which are all bought and paid for and included within the sale price, which is a huge plus for any new purchaser as additional funds will not need to be spent for some time," the marketing agents said.

"Y-Pass Fish & Chip Shop is owner operated with the help of five part-time members of staff and has an average weekly turnover of circa £4,500. They serve a fine range of fish & chips, along with, pies, condiments, burgers, chicken and cold drinks. They have a popular collection service and also offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

"We believe that there is further potential to increase trade should you wish, by extending upon the current opening times, expanding the food offering and by joining the online delivery portals such as Just Eat & Deliveroo."

Inside, there is space for 24 covers, with an outside area to accommodate further diners, while the property also includes a two-bed owners' flat above.

The leasehold chippy is on the market for an asking price of £74,950 with an annual rent of £14,232 and eight years remaining on a 20-year lease.
