PLANS are in place for overnight road resurfacing on Blackpole Road in Worcester next month.

Worcestershire County Council proposes to close the road from its junction with Cotswold Way to its junction with Windermere Drive for work expected to take about 12 nights (8pm-6am) from Monday, June 7.

The alternative route will take drivers along Cotswold Way, Woodgreen Drive, Middle Hollow Drive, Tolladine Road, Windermere Drive and Blackpole Road and vice versa.

From Tuesday, June 8, Lansdowne Crescent Lane will be closed from its junction with Lansdowne Walk to its junction with Rogers Hill to allow for footpath reconstruction.

Work is expected to take seven days, with drivers using a detour along Lansdowne Crescent Lane, Lansdowne Crescent, Lansdowne Walk and vice versa.

Also starting on June 8, works by Severn Trent will see the temporary closure of Northcote Street from its junction with Turrall Street to its junction with Gregory's Mill Street.

Drivers will use the detour Turrall Street, New Bank Street, Bromsgrove Street, Crown Street, Droitwich Road and Gregory's Mill Street while work, expected to last three days, is carried out.

In St John's, the county council is considering making changes to the waiting restrictions in Lambert Road close to its junction with Comer Road.

The changes would replace restriction of waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm with limited waiting of 45 minutes (no return within two hours) Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm on the following lengths and side of road in Worcester

The order will contain exemptions to allow parking/access for certain purposes and limited waiting by disabled persons' vehicles. Documents in relation to this order can be downloaded at
