DEAR Editor – I was concerned to read in The Times (May 11),that the Office for Statistic Regulation has said that in many areas population forecasts used to justify and require the building of  thousands of extra homes was based on erroneous over-assumptions, often inconsistent with local evidence.

In a number of university cities, for example, it had been assumed that overseas students would stay in the area after graduation.

Might it be pertinent to ask therefore whether the forecasts of population growth used to inform our South Worcestershire Development Plan were also overstated?
