A FIRE between Evesham and Broadway saw crews pulled in from Gloucestershire and Warwickshire on Sunday.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Control reported “large attendance of fire appliances”, including units from neighbouring counties to tackle the blaze at an industrial unit at Murcot at 6.20pm on Sunday, May 30. Police and ambulance attended as well.

It was a busy Sunday for the fire service and it started in the dead of night for firefighters who had to put out a blazing campervan in the St John’s area of Worcester at 2.40 in the morning.

A person also had to be removed from a car that had crashed into a tree at 4am in Stourport-on-Severn, while Western Power Distribution called for help when a transformer caught fire at a substation in Droitwich at 2.30pm.

Power was quickly restored for residents in affected areas.
