THE best small shop in Britain is in the running for more awards.
Cornucopia, based in Worcester’s Crowngate shopping centre, won the title of Best Small Shop in an Independent Retailers Confederation competition last year.
The accolade came after mother-and-daughter owners Clare and Hannah Bishop opened its Trouva boutique online during lockdown.
And now it has been selected as a finalist in Independent Retailer of the Year – Midlands & Wales in the Greats Gift Retailers Awards 2021.
Hannah said: “After the past year this is incredibly exciting news for Cornucopia and retail in Worcester!
“We are delighted to have reached the finals in two categories:
Independent Gift Retailer of the Year – Midlands & Wales, and Retail Employee Of The Year 2021: Lindsay Freeman (our senior sales assistant.)
“We are humbled and delighted to be shortlisted.”
The Greats Awards, now in their 19th year, were launched by Progressive Gifts & Home to recognise and reward the UK’s very best gift retailers from right across the retail spectrum.
These dedicated awards for gift retailers have risen immeasurably in status over the years and are now universally acknowledged as being true accolades of excellence.
All retailer finalists were decided as a result of an industry-wide poll.
