And in a way, it’s a slight misnomer – because it’s not just of use to tourists but also a mine of useful material for the city’s residents too.

Based in Worcester’s High Street, adjacent to the Guildhall, Worcester TIC sells all things Worcester and has got plenty of information and advice to keep you busy around the city and to help you plan your days out with maps, books, trails, dog-friendly venues and events guides.

For sale are locally produced products, including food and drink, books, maps, cards and prints, postcards, T-shirts and sweatshirts, bags, baubles and souvenirs.

If it’s a day trips, coach holiday or city walks you want to book, Worcester TIC can do that for you.

If it’s a First bus pass you need, Worcester TIC can sort that for you. If it’s tickets you need for local events, it’s very often the case that Worcester TIC can help with that too.

In short, you don’t have to be a visitor to the city in order to make use of the vast range of services on offer.

In fact, it was a city-based occurrence that gave the TIC its most memorable moment in business – “when we sold the tickets for Worcester City Football Club and the queue went down the High Street.”

And as you’d expect, there’s always a question which comes from someone who clearly hasn’t done any homework on the place they’ve chosen to visit, and Worcester TIC’s is no exception.

The piece of advice sought? “Can we go whale watching in Worcester?”
