DEAR Editor – The MP for Worcester and 332 other MPs have voted for a £4 billion annual cut to Britain’s international aid budget. By doing so, they have broken their own party’s manifesto pledge.

The former leader of the Scottish Conservative Party has condemned this. Tory activists have condemned this. The Bishop of Worcester has condemned this.

Let’s also remember that this government spent £37 billion on its failed ‘Test and Trace’ programme.

The chief executive of Water Aid, Tim Wainwright, said with regards to the international aid budget cuts: “The Chancellor’s cynical move to balance Britain’s books on the backs of the world’s poorest people will cost hundreds of thousands of lives.

“To cut aid for lifesaving water and sanitation in the middle of the worst pandemic for a hundred years is unconscionable.”

The MP for Worcester and most of his colleagues have effectively voted for many people to die. They bring shame on this country yet again. They need to go.
