A MAN who attacked four emergency workers and assaulted two others has appeared at Worcester Crown Court.

Tommy Simpson, also known as Tommy Lee Simpson, was given a community order for four assaults of emergency workers, and a further two assaults when he appeared at the court on July 9.

The 22-year-old, of Powells Row, had admitted in March assaulting PC Joshua Phillips and PC James Mandall on February 20, and assaulting PC Chris Harrison and PC James Sarkar on February 26, all while they had been on duty.

Simpson had also admitted assaulting Kim Bishopp and Paschal Ugoghukwu Dibia on February 26.

All the assaults happened in Worcester.

As part of the community order Simpson was given an electronically monitored curfew to his home address for six months, in place between the hours of 7pm and 7am daily.

Simpson was told to pay compensation of a total of £400, but no court costs or victim surcharge was ordered, magistrates explaining compensation would be prioritised.

Magistrates accepted his offer to pay the £400 at a rate of £20 per month beginning in August.
