THE city is sizzling in heat which is set to hit 30C this afternoon making it hotter than some favourite holiday destinations.
People should make the most of it - or perhaps endure the heat - because rain and thunderstorms are predicted towards the end of the week.
With the mercury rising, it means that temperatures in Worcester will top these top sun-soaked holiday destinations islands.
Today, the city will be hotter than the Balearic Island of Ibiza (28C), Greek island Santorini (28C), and Italy's Capri (29C) where there is even a chance of rain.
The heatwave is due to continue on Tuesday (30C) and Wednesday (29C) with uninterrupted sunshine.
Cooler temperatures move in on what is expected to be a cloudy Thursday the thermometer dropping slightly to 27C with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.
Light rain is expected late on Friday evening after temperatures peak at 24C before the chance of thunderstorms at the weekend.
Saturday is expected to be a wet one with rain predicted throughout the day with thundery showers expected from around 4pm lasting through the night.
Sunday could also get off to a wet start with thundery showers predicted throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
Both days' temperature is expected to peak at 22C.
