A STUDENT beauty queen from Worcester has celebrated her latest success in the Miss England finals.

Erin Smith, who is the reigning Miss Worcester, has been shortlisted for the Miss England talent round after showing off her football skills, as well as singing and playing the guitar.

After being selected for the talent round for her football skills just before the audition, Erin had a sports injury so she had to think of something else she could perform.

Instead, she impressed the judges with her singing and guitar skills.

Just 11 national finalists out of 44 have been selected for a talent audition for a top three place to perform at the Miss England national final event next month.

Erin is one of 11 Miss England Finalists from across the country who have caught the judges' eyes in several different rounds of the competition so far, including the Plastfree Eco Queen award.

Erin created a black and white recycled outfit made from old football shirts from the team she played for as a youngster and hopes to be selected for the Eco Fashion show at the Miss England final.

Erin has played for Worcester City Girls FC and recently won the Miss England Sports award in June, beating 43 other contestants at the national sports round.

The finalists were invited to audition at Leicester’s oldest surviving theatre, The Y Theatre in East Street earlier this month.

This was filmed by the Video News Factory for a Miss England Talent live stream at 7pm on Thursday, July 29, a month ahead of the final.

Judges for the talent round include the reigning Miss England, NHS Dr Bhasha Mukherjee, who has held the Miss England title for over two years, and Miss England choreographer Lisa Powell.

The top three will be revealed at the end of the Livestreamon on July 29 and will be invited to perform live on stage at the Heart of England Conference and Event Centre, Coventry on August 27 2021 alongside professional performers from Ruby Lemon.

The winner of the talent round will be fast tracked through to the top 20 on the night of the final.

The winner of Miss England final will be revealed on the night who will go forward to the 70th Miss World final in Puerto Rico Caribbean and have the chance to win the top prize of £100,000.
