RUMOURS have been swirling online that The Alchemist is set to open a cocktail bar in Worcester.
Social media has been awash with claims that the popular cocktail bar is coming to Cathedral Square in College Street.
According to the rumours on Facebook, the brand has been interested in "the unit by the entrance to Travelodge".
The Alchemist says it specialises in "molecular mixology cocktails and drinks" as well as offers food throughout the day.
Judging by the reaction online, the bar would be a welcome addition to the city.
However, a spokeswoman for The Alchemist has quashed the rumours that the brand would be opening a Worcester-based bar.
She said: "We don’t have any plans to open in Worcester I’m afraid."
Sadly, for now drinkers will have to visit the nearest branches in Birmingham and Cheltenham to enjoy theatrical cocktails which can bellow smoke, change colour or arrive looking like a science experiment.
