MP Robin Walker visited an assisted living centre this week to recognise the hard work from the staff.

The conservative member of parliament for Worcester attended Stuart House, on London Road, on Friday July 23 to celebrate the carers who have given so much over the past 16 months.

Each member of staff at the Shaw Healthcare owned centre was provided with certificates and chocolates to commemorate their service.

Mr Walker said: “None of us imagined this would go on for as long as it has.

“It is so heart-warming to know that there are homes and providers such has Shaw healthcare within our communities that have provided safe havens during the pandemic.”

He added: “It has been a real pleasure and honour to have shared this experience with staff here at Stuart House.”

Shaw Healthcare provide specialist services with Stuart House offering support for up to six people living with a dual diagnosis of mental health and/or learning disabilities.

In a joint message the team of staff wrote: “Stuart House is a great place to work.

“Despite the difficult situation during the Pandemic, as a skilled team we have used all our knowledge and experience to help stay strong for each other.

“Today we felt very pleased and grateful for the recognition.”

The event was also attended by Shaw Healthcare regional director from Stacey Meredith

She said: “We are immensely proud of all our staff at Stuart House and incredibly inspired as to how committed and resilient they have all been during such challenging circumstances.

“Thank you to all our staff and residents who have clearly been there for one another and kept on smiling.”
