A yellow weather warning has been issued for this week in Worcester with up to 60mm of rain possible.

The Met Office has released a weather warning for large parts of northern and central England as well as most of Scotland and Wales.

Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop early on Tuesday July 27, continuing until around 6am the following morning, Wednesday July 28.

Some areas should expect 20 to 30mm of rain in the space of only one or two hours.

Other places could see conditions far worse with 60mm expected within three to six hours on Tuesday.

Due to the heavy rain expected, the Met Office has warned that floods are possible with other areas of the country having already suffered flooding over the weekend.

They have warned drivers to take extra precautions when travelling.

There is further warnings for lightning and hail that could pose additional hazards.

This comes after last week's heatwave which saw temperatures reach upwards of 30C.
