AN enterprising Worcester youngster with a big heart is earning praise for her efforts in raising money for charity.

Vicky Fortey's 10-year-old daughter Darcey has set up a small business selling fidget toys for children and adults.

Vicky said: "Darcey has set up a Facebook page herself and brought her stock using her savings (and a little help from me!) and is selling them for a small profit throughout the summer.

"Darcey will be donating the profits between two charities, The National Autistic Society and Acorns Children’s Hospice in Worcester.

"She has also set up a raffle with amazing prizes to be won, donated from local businesses, all money being split between the two charities.

"She is promoting her fundraiser by making posters to stick around the local area."

Her family are very proud of her selfless work – grandmother Diane said: "Darcey has put all her efforts into this. She struggles at times with her ADHD but she still loves to help others."

Darcey is also holding tabletop sales and car boots throughout the summer holidays – and had a very special guest at the weekend when Worcester MP Robin Walker visited one to find out more about her fundraising efforts.

Vicky said: "In just three weeks, two tabletop sales, donations and the raffle (which we still have a few numbers left for) we’ve/you’ve raised £318.37 for charity.

"It couldn’t have been done without you guys coming to buy and support us and we’re extremely overwhelmed.

"Raffle prizes are still coming in... and we have new stock coming next week and I think I may/have to order more!"

Tickets are selling fast for Darcey's raffle, which will be drawn at the end of August, and there are some great prizes to be won.
