A POPULAR city centre bar has had to shut its doors following a positive covid test.

Conservatory Bar in Friar Street has been shut for ten days but will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday) following the ten-day isolation period.

A sign in the window tells customers: "Unfortunately, due to a positive Covid test, and in turn the safety of the staff and customers, we have temporarily closed so the staff can self-isolate.

"Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience but, as I hope you understand, safety is paramount in the current climate.

"If you would like to book for a later date, please do so via our website or social media.

A number of bars and restaurants in Worcestershire have had to temporarily close after staff either had a positive covid test or were 'pinged' by the NHS Track and Trace app.

The Farriers Arms in Fish Street reopened on Saturday (July 24) after having to temporarily close because multiple staff members testing positive for Covid.

Morgan Motors, in Malvern, had to close its restaurant on Thursday (July 22) after a member of the catering team received a 'ping' from the NHS Test and Trace app, asking them to isolate.
