FIRE fighters were called to a building on fire earlier today.

A building in Roman Way retail park in Malvern, set fire this morning.

Two fire engines attended the scene.

A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Malvern were called to a building fire at the Roman Way retail park in Malvern at 11:39 on 28 July.

"A small fire had been extinguished prior to the arrival of the fire service and natural ventilation was used to clear smoke logging.

"A thermal imaging camera was also used. There were no casualties and the incident was closed at 12:40."

Last week, engines from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service were spotted at the Morrison's in Roman Way following a fire inside the store that started in a chiller cabinet.

Shoppers and staff were evacuated while firefighters tackled the blaze.

A spokesman for the fire service confirmed they were called out shortly before 10am and that staff and shoppers had been evacuated by the time they arrived.

They said: "HWFRS received a call at 9.53am to reports of a chiller cabinet fire at Morrison’s in Malvern.

"The supermarket had been evacuated by the time crews arrived."

At around midday, a Morrisons spokesman confirmed the store and attached petrol station were back open.

They said: "Following a brief evacuation, the now is now back open.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
