The free summer sports sessions for Worcester children running across the summer holidays are a 'great '.

Councillor James Stanley dropped in one of the sessions at the Countryside Centre to see kids aged from three to 18 trying out sports from football to tennis, kwik cricket and many more.

Cllr Stanley said: “These free multi-sports sessions are a great opportunity for kids to socialise again, to enjoy the fresh air, have fun and stay fit during the summer holidays.

“They’re also a great collaborative experience, with the children, parents and staff all getting together to support the kids’ wellbeing. I would encourage parents across the city to get their children booked in for these fantastic free sessions.”

The five-week multi-sports programme is run on Worcester City Council’s behalf by Freedom Leisure’s Active Communities Team.

The sessions are open to children aged from three to 18 and are run at 14 different venues across the city, Monday-Friday, until 27 August.

Sports on offer at each session include football, tennis, kwik cricket, and many more.

Although many restrictions have been lifted, children, parents and staff at each session are being asked to follow guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone, and cleaning regimes will still be adhered to.
