PART of a busy Worcester road will be closed for two nights later this month to allow for maintenance work to be carried out on a railway level crossing.

Plans are in place to close Henwick Road from its junction with Wheeler Close to its junction with Ingles Drive.

The work is set to be carried out overnight on Monday, August 23, and Tuesday, August 24, with the road closed from11pm until 5am each night.

In the same week, Worcestershire County Council road surface patching work will start on part of Ambleside Drive which will see it being closed for an expected 11 days.

The road from its junction with Tolladine Road to its junction with Langdale Drive, with access only permitted to frontages.

Work is due to start on Tuesday, August 24.

Electricity cable work starting today (Monday, August 2) means that part of St George’s Walk will be closed for about five days.

The street will be closed from its junction with St George’s Lane North to its junction with Goddard Road to allow for a new customer connection by Western Power Distribution.

Also starting today (Monday, August 2), drivers are reminded about road resurfacing work which will see the closure of part of Winchester Avenue in St John’s for about 12 days.

The road will be closed from its junction with Malvern Road to its junction with Swinton Lane.

Meanwhile, no waiting proposals announced earlier last month will come into effect this week.

Form Thursday, August 5, there will be no waiting on any time on several stretches of Checketts Lane and Fairbairn Avenue, while there will also be restricted times along other parts of the streets.
