A YOGA teacher from Worcester has found a unique way to spend time with the elephants from the city's Big Parade.

Véronique Sweeney, who has been a yoga instructor since 2013, is working her way through the six-mile trail by performing yoga poses alongside the sculptures.

Sara Matthews, business development manager at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We love Véronique’s unique take on completing our elephant trail, and look forward to following her progress as she interprets each sculpture through yoga poses.

"It’s just fantastic to see all the different ways visitors enjoy the trail, whether it’s on foot, on wheels, or with four-legged friends!

"We’d like to thank everyone for supporting Worcester’s Big Parade, and St Richard’s Hospice, this summer."

Worcester's Big Parade posted on Facebook to share their excitement at Miss Sweeney's challenge. The post said: "We love seeing all the different ways you enjoy our elephant trail - whether that’s on foot, on wheels or with four-legged frien‍ds"

"This is her performing ‘bird of paradise’ with the beautiful floral design of ‘An Elephant Never Forgets’ and a dragonfly pose with ‘Leave The Herd Behind’, which features many of the insects which live along the Severn"

"In her final picture she’s ‘threading the needle’ with ‘Woolyphant’. As a sculpture that pays tribute to all our amazing knitters and stitchers making cute and cuddly elephants to support the care we provide at St Richard's Hospice, it’s another well-chosen pose!

Currently on day three of her challenge, you can follow Veronique’s yoga alongside the herd on Instagram at @veroniqueyogalife.
