FAMILIES will have to wait a little longer to enjoy the play equipment at a popular park as the reopening has been delayed.

Parents and children enjoying the summer holidays are still not able to access the play equipment at Worcester Woods Country Park.

Signs placed around the play area explain there has been some issues with supplies and staffing.

The notice reads: "This play area is being refurbished with new equipment and landscaping.

"Unfortunately due to problems with materials supplies and covid related staff issues the work has experienced some delays.

"The play area will now reopen in mid-August.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"If you have any queries please ask the park staff or call reception."

It has been closed since July with plans for work to be finished by the summer holidays.

Some equipment is available at the Countryside Centre but the majority is currently out of bounds.

Workers are at the site replacing the old equipment in the section of park nearest Orchard Cafe.

The Countryside Centre, cafe, and the rest of the park and nature reserve remains open to visitors.
