A POPULAR city pub is up for sale after the owners put the building on the market.
The Postal Order, which is currently owned by Wetherspoons, is listed as for sale by Savills estate agency - although they have not yet revealed the price.
The listing reads: "The pub forms part of a four storey semi-detached building constructed under a flat roof.
"The pub is laid out over ground and basement with the upper parts sold off on long leases.
"The property is held freehold and benefits from a premises licence permitting the sale of alcohol until 12.30am Sunday to Thursday and 1am Friday and Saturday.
"Historic trading information may be available to interested parties upon written request.
"Fixtures and fittings with the exception of all tills, IT equipment, leased and branded items can be included as part of the sale should they be required. Stock will be removed from the premises prior to completion.
"Interested parties are asked to undertake discreet customer visits in the first instance. No formal viewings will be permitted unless arranged through the joint selling agents Savills and CBRE.
"Under no circumstances should any direct approach be made to any of our client's staff."
The Postal Order takes its name from its previous use as a post office dating from the 1880s.
By the 1940s, the historic building also housed the city’s telephone exchange.
