A new rugby club for kids run by England rugby international star, Alex Matthews, is coming to Dines Green.

Didi Rugby for children aged 18 months to four years is starting this September at The Green Hub Centre.

The classes which run on Thursdays are supported by Councillor Richard Udall and Worcester Community Trust.

Councillor Udall said: "I am very proud and pleased to bring Didi Rugby to St John's. It will allow small children to play, enjoy learning and have fun. We are very lucky to have Alex Matthews leading these classes, she has only just returned from the Tokyo Olympic games, where she played in the Team GB Women's Rugby Sevens.

"She is an international rugby player and a world cup winner, she is also local, playing for Worcester Warriors Women. She is an international rugby star and is working hard to support our local community, investing in fun activity for children.

"Didi Rugby will also help new parents to meet up and have a cup of tea and coffee when their children are playing, it will bring people back together and will be fun for parents and their children, it's been a hard eighteen months of lockdown, we are hoping to bring the fun back".
