A WORCESTERSHIRE sex worker has spoken out about an upcoming ban on sexual content on a website used to sell images and videos.

OnlyFans has been in the headlines recently after the social media platform used by sex workers but also celebrities, musicians and comedians, announced it is banning the sexually explicit content it is famous for.

A sex worker who lives in Worcestershire and has been on OnlyFans for four years has said the ban is hugely 'disappointing'.

In an exclusive interview with the Worcester News the content creator who did not wish to be identified said: "For me personally the ban is not the end of the world.

"I don't have a large following, but for some girls who have spent years of time, money and effort in building a following and making a name for themselves on OnlyFans this will be a huge blow. I really feel for them.

"It is hugely disappointing that OnlyFans is treating the girls who made the platform a household name so poorly.

"I know many creators do use OnlyFans as their main source of income and this will have a huge effect on them.

"For me, it is more of an inconvenience, I do have other sources of income, I work 9-5 in a 'normal' profession that is quite respectable. It is more of an inconvenience for me having to start again on a different platform.

"It makes zero sense to ban explicit content. It is what men want. I have had guys message me and say my content is too mild. They are looking for x-rated stuff. It is somewhat animalistic the urges these men have."

She added that it takes a 'certain person' to be comfortable doing this work.

She said: "It does take its toll, you are taking your clothes off for strangers. I find I have to detach myself emotionally from the men I speak to.

"I detach myself from what I do. You have to be very mentally strong and be in the right mentality. It is far from easy money.

"The way I see the world and the way I see men has absolutely changed since I started sex work."

When asked how she juggles her full-time job and making content for OnlyFans she admits it is a 'struggle'.

She said: "People don't understand how much time and effort it takes to make an OnlyFans profitable. It is like a business, and you have to treat it as such. I have hired assistants before to help me run my page. It is most definitely a full-time job.

"There is an assumption that people who are on the platform are doing it because they are stupid or they can't find work elsewhere, but this just isn't the case. Most of the girls on there, including myself, are highly educated and already in work. We are just normal people."
