A drug dealer has been jailed for four years.

Jack Evans, 22, from Ploughman’s Court in Droitwich, was sentenced on Thursday at Worcester Crown Court after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, and possession of cannabis.

The court heard that officers from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team, assisted by the Local Policing Priorities Team, executed a drugs warrant at Ploughman's Court, Droitwich, on December 1.

Inside they found a large quantity of crack cocaine and heroin, with an estimated street value of £6,800 as well as cannabis.

PC Rich Rees, from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This is a lengthy sentence and should act as a warning to others who might consider selling drugs.

"The Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team has invested a lot of time, targeting drug dealing within the town, the presence of class ‘A’ drugs has a knock on effect and can lead to increasing violent crime, thefts and anti-social behaviour.

"I am grateful that resident’s in the area have reported their suspicions to police and that we have been able to take action to resolve the problem."

Police ask anyone concerned about drug dealing in their area to report it to westmercia.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about.
