A POPULAR splash pad in Evesham has broken down on one of the hottest days of the year so far.
Disappointed families will have to wait until tomorrow to enjoy the sprays and fountains at the water play area in Abbey Park.
Wychavon District Council apologised and said an engineer would be sent out this afternoon to fix it.
It is hoped that it will be up and running tomorrow when temperatures are still set to reach about 29C.
Wychavon District Council said: "It is one of the hottest days of the year and unfortunately, the water play area in Abbey Park, Evesham has decided to stop working.
"We have an engineer coming out to fix it this afternoon so hopefully it will be back up and running tomorrow.
"Our other water play areas in Pershore and Droitwich are still available.
"We're extending the time all our water play areas are available this year.
"You can enjoy them daily from 10am to 6pm until 26 September 2021."
